The forward spur marked on the map is shallow on the ground. The skill required is to recognise the forward spur, as separate from the distinct spur behind it. The group of trees on the spur is marked on the map as white in the yellow and assists in the identification. The circle on the competition map was centred on the SW of the five flags.
