Description: 9. A-D Pit, SE side

The challenge here is which feature, which side and also what is mapped. The map shows three pits, one of which is on the south side of the trail. There are four pits north of the trail in the terrain. The two pits closer to the trail are too shallow to be mapped. What you must notice is the second mapped pit to the north which does not have a control next to it. Another hint is distance – the pit circled on the map is at least three times as far from the trail as the one to the south, and the unmapped pits are not that far.
