PNWOF Trail Orienteering 2003
Control 11 Answer Sheet
Description: 11. A-D Pit, S Side
The challenge here is where am I and what bearing. The trail to the east and the vegetation boundaries behind you should help you locate the viewing station. To solve this control, you may need to take bearings from several places. The first obvious place to take bearings is from the trail-road crossing, as well as the viewing station. We used the two man-made objects for one back-bearing. We also took bearings across the end of the form line knoll, and from the road junction to the west. Walking around to the west and northward on the other road may help, but this is a tough one to master, no matter how you approach it.
